How we collect, use, and protect your personal information

1. Information We Collect

To provide you with our AI face editing service, we collect:

  • Your Photos: The images you choose to edit with our AI
  • Your Phone/Tablet Info: What type of phone or tablet you're using (like iPhone, Android, etc.)
  • How You Use the App: Which features you use most (this helps us make the app better)
  • Purchase History: If you buy premium features, Apple or Google handles this (we don't see your payment details)

Important: We don't ask for your name, email, or any personal information. The app works instantly when you install it!

2. How We Use Your Information

We use this information to:

  • Edit Your Photos: Apply AI effects like changing hair color, adding makeup, etc.
  • Remember Your Progress: Keep track of your credits and what photos you've edited
  • Make the App Better: See which features people love and which ones need improvement
  • Help You: Answer your questions if you contact support
  • Follow the Law: Stay compliant with privacy and app store regulations

3. Face Data Privacy and Protection

What Face Data We Collect:

When you use our AI face editing features, we temporarily process facial images (selfies) that may include:

  • Facial features, structure, and proportions
  • Facial expressions and appearance
  • Skin tone, texture, and visual characteristics
  • Other visual elements present in your selfie photos

How We Use Face Data:

Your face data is used exclusively for the following purposes:

  • AI Transformations: Applying AI-powered edits such as hair styling, makeup effects, facial enhancements, skin smoothing, and other creative transformations you select
  • Quality Enhancement: Improving image quality, resolution, and professional portrait effects
  • Feature Processing: Analyzing facial structure to apply accurate and natural-looking modifications

Important: Your face data is NEVER used for facial recognition, identification, surveillance, or any purpose other than providing the AI editing service you requested.

Face Data Sharing with Third Parties:

To provide AI transformations, we share your face photos with:

  • FAL.AI: Our secure AI processing service partner that performs the actual image transformations. FAL.AI receives your face photo temporarily (only during the transformation, typically 3-10 seconds) and does NOT retain, store, or use your face data beyond processing. Once transformation is complete, FAL.AI automatically deletes your face photo from their systems. FAL.AI does NOT use your photos to train AI models or for any purpose beyond the immediate transformation request.
  • Supabase (Cloud Storage): Our secure cloud infrastructure provider that stores your photos during processing and in your history. Supabase provides infrastructure only and does NOT access, analyze, or use your face data. Your photos in history are stored under your control until you delete them. Supabase is SOC 2 Type II certified and GDPR compliant.

Important Note: Your photos are stored in your history for your convenience (before/after comparison, downloading favorites, etc.). You have complete control and can delete individual photos or your entire history at any time.

We do NOT:

  • Sell your face data to anyone
  • Use your face data for advertising or marketing
  • Share your face data with data brokers or analytics companies
  • Allow third parties to retain your face data beyond the immediate processing period

Where Face Data is Stored:

  • During AI Processing (Temporary Server Storage): Your original selfie is temporarily uploaded to our secure Supabase cloud servers during AI processing (10-30 seconds), then is deleted from temporary processing storage once transformation is complete
  • Third-Party AI Processing (Temporary): FAL.AI receives your face data via a secure, time-limited link that expires after 15 minutes. FAL.AI processes and deletes your face data within 3-10 seconds. FAL.AI does NOT retain your face photos
  • Your History (Cloud Storage): Both your original photo and AI-transformed result are stored in our secure cloud database and displayed in your app history for before/after comparison. These photos remain in your history until you manually delete them. You can delete individual photos (swipe left) or clear your entire history at any time from Settings. You have complete control over your photos
  • On Your Device (Local Storage): Both your original photos and transformed results are stored locally on your iPhone or iPad in the app's secure storage. These photos remain on your device until you manually delete them or uninstall the app

Important Note: Your photos in history are stored for your convenience - to view transformations, compare before/after results, and download your favorite edits. You have complete control and can delete individual photos or your entire history at any time.

How Long We Retain Face Data:

  • During AI Processing (Temporary): Your original face photo exists on our servers for 10-30 seconds during transformation processing, then is deleted from temporary processing storage
  • Third-Party AI Processing (FAL.AI - Temporary): Your original face data exists on FAL.AI servers for only 3-10 seconds during the transformation process, then is automatically and permanently deleted. FAL.AI does NOT retain your face photos
  • In Your History (Cloud Storage): Both your original and AI-transformed photos are stored in our cloud database until you manually delete them. This allows you to view before/after comparisons, download your favorite results, and maintain a gallery of your transformations. You have complete control and can delete individual photos or clear your entire history at any time
  • On Your Device (Local Storage): Both original and transformed photos are stored on your iPhone or iPad until you manually delete them or uninstall the app

Summary of Retention:

  • Temporary processing storage: 10-30 seconds, then deleted
  • Your history (cloud and device): Until you delete them (you have complete control)

Security Measures for Face Data:

  • Encrypted Transmission: All face data is transmitted using industry-standard SSL/TLS encryption (HTTPS)
  • Secure Cloud Infrastructure: We use Supabase, a SOC 2 Type II certified cloud provider with enterprise-grade security
  • Time-Limited Access: AI processing partners receive face data through time-limited, expiring URLs (15-minute expiry) to minimize exposure
  • Automatic Deletion: Server-side face data is automatically deleted within 30 seconds of processing completion
  • No Human Access: Face data is processed entirely by automated AI systems. No human employees or contractors view or access your face photos
  • Device-Level Security: Photos stored on your device are protected by your iPhone or iPad's built-in security (Face ID, Touch ID, passcode)

Your Control Over Face Data:

  • Immediate Deletion: You can delete any photo from your history at any time by swiping left on the photo in the app
  • Clear All History: Delete all your edited photos and history from both your device and our cloud database with one tap in Settings
  • Uninstall the App: Removes all locally stored face data from your device. Server-side face data is already deleted within 30 seconds of processing
  • Data Deletion Request: Contact us at [email protected] to request deletion of any remaining data associated with your account

Third-Party Privacy Practices:

  • FAL.AI: Does NOT store your face photos. Processes and deletes your face data within 3-10 seconds. Does NOT use your face photos for training AI models, advertising, or any purpose beyond the immediate transformation request. FAL.AI's privacy practices comply with GDPR and CCPA regulations
  • Supabase: Provides cloud infrastructure for photo storage (both during processing and in your history). Photos in your history are stored until you delete them. Supabase does NOT access or analyze your photos. Supabase is SOC 2 Type II certified and GDPR compliant

Bottom Line:

Your face photos are treated with the highest level of privacy and security. Third-party AI processors (FAL.AI) process and delete your photos within 3-10 seconds and do NOT retain them. Your photos are stored in your history (on Supabase cloud and your device) for your convenience - to view transformations, compare before/after, and download favorites. You have complete control and can delete individual photos or your entire history at any time.

4. Do We Share Your Information?

Short answer: We don't sell your data. Ever.

We only share information in these specific situations:

  • AI Processing Partners: We share your face photos temporarily with FAL.AI (our AI transformation service) and Supabase (our cloud infrastructure) ONLY for the duration of processing (3-30 seconds total). These partners do NOT retain, store, or use your face data beyond the immediate processing period. See Section 3 "Face Data Privacy and Protection" for complete details
  • If the Law Requires It: Like if a court asks us to share information
  • To Keep Everyone Safe: If we need to prevent harm or illegal activity

Remember: Since we don't collect personal info (no email, no name), there's very little to share anyway! And your face data is deleted from our servers within 30 seconds of processing.

5. How We Protect Your Data

We use modern security to keep your information safe:

  • Encrypted Connections: Like a secure lock on your data when it travels
  • Limited Access: Only our AI system processes your photos (no humans see them!)
  • Secure Servers: We use professional-grade security for our systems
  • Regular Checks: We test our security regularly to keep it strong

Think of it like a bank vault for your photos - secure, automated, and private!

6. How Long We Keep Your Data

We don't keep your data longer than needed:

  • Temporary Processing Storage: Deleted within 10-30 seconds after AI processing completes
  • Third-Party AI Processing (FAL.AI): FAL.AI processes and deletes your face photos within 3-10 seconds. NOT retained
  • Your History (Cloud and Device): Both original and transformed photos are stored until you manually delete them. You have complete control and can delete individual photos or clear your entire history at any time
  • App Usage Info: Kept until you delete the app from your phone
  • Anonymous Stats: We keep general usage patterns (like "100 people used this feature today") to improve the app. These do NOT include face data or personally identifiable information

When you delete the app, all your local data (photos, history) is gone from your device. You can delete your cloud history at any time from Settings.

7. Your Rights

You're in control of your data. You can:

  • Delete Your History: Clear all edited photos from the app anytime
  • Uninstall the App: This removes all your data from your phone
  • Contact Us: Ask questions or request data deletion
  • Get Your Data: Request a copy of what we have (spoiler: it's very little!)

Since we don't collect personal information like email or name, there's not much to manage. The app is designed to be privacy-friendly!

8. Children's Privacy

VisageX AI is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any material changes by:

  • Posting the updated Privacy Policy on this page
  • Updating the "Last Updated" date
  • Providing in-app notifications for significant changes
